Reminder - International Trade Minister Fast to Make First Official Visit to Washington, D.C.

(No. A/82 - October 14, 2011) The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, will make his first official visit to Washington, D.C., on October 17 and 18, 2011.

Minister Fast will meet his counterpart, United States Trade Representative Ron Kirk, in person for the first time to discuss various important bilateral issues. Minister Fast will also meet with several other senior U.S. officials and lawmakers to discuss Canada’s close long-standing trade ties with the United States, which contribute to job creation and economic prosperity on both sides of our shared border.

Following a brief statement, Minister Fast will take questions from media representatives.
