Reminder - Canada Showcasing How Its Research and Innovation Can Help Solve Global Challenges as It Welcomes Top International Science Conference to Vancouver

February 16, 2012 - Wai Young, Member of Parliament for Vancouver South, on behalf of the Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, will open the Canadian Pavilion and highlight Canada’s research and innovation excellence at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in Vancouver. This signature event for the AAAS is being held outside the United States for the first time in 30 years.

The AAAS is an international body dedicated to advancing science globally. Its annual meeting brings together up to 8,000 of the world’s top scientists, engineers and policy-makers. Canada is making an unprecedented contribution to this year’s event, which is taking place from February 16 to 20, with over 170 eminent Canadian scientists participating in panels and presentations.
