Minister Valcourt Leads Trade Mission to Dominican Republic and Haiti

August 31, 2012 - The Honourable Bernard Valcourt, Associate Minister of National Defence and Minister of State (Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency) (La Francophonie), along with the Honourable Rob Merrifield, Chair of the Standing Committee on International Trade, will lead a trade mission to the Dominican Republic and Haiti on behalf of International Trade Minister Ed Fast from September 2 to 7, 2012.

Twenty organizations, primarily from the infrastructure and agri-food sectors, will be participating in this trade mission, which is part of the government’s commitment to promoting Canadian business abroad, to creating jobs and prosperity at home and to supporting Canada’s continued engagement in the Americas.
