Reminder - International Trade Minister Ed Fast to Hold Media Teleconference to Discuss Trade Mission to Southeast Asia

August 31, 2012 - The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, will hold a media teleconference on Monday, September 3, 2012, to share highlights of his four-nation, August 27 to September 3 trade mission to Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and Burma.

Accompanying the Minister during the Burma portion of the mission, from September 1 to 3, are representatives of several Canadian companies belonging to the Thai-Canadian Chamber of Commerce.

The first Canadian trade minister to visit Burma and the first Canadian government minister to visit since the lifting of Canadian trade sanctions against that country, Minister Fast will make an announcement during the teleconference regarding the next steps the Government of Canada is taking to help Canadian companies succeed in this emerging democracy and fast-growing economy.
