Building People-to-People Ties Through Cultural Awareness

November 6, 2011 - Ahmedabad, Gujarat State, India - The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, today visited the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad, where Mahatma Gandhi lived from 1918 to 1930. The Ashram is now a museum where visitors learn about Gandhi’s message of non-violence and self-reliance, and how he became the father of the Indian nation.

Minister Fast is in India from November 3 to 9 to build relations and advance trade and investment ties.
