International Trade Minister Ed Fast Stands Firmly Against Protectionism at WTO Ministerial Meeting

December 15, 2011 - Geneva, Switzerland - International Trade Minister Ed Fast today joined World Trade Organization member economies in making a pledge “to fight all forms of protectionism in the strongest terms” at the eighth World Trade Organization ministerial meeting in Geneva. Minister Fast and his counterparts pledged that their economies would not raise new barriers to trade in goods and services, impose new export restrictions or implement WTO-inconsistent measures, including those that stimulate exports.
