International Trade Minister Ed Fast Meets with Libyan Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research

January 29, 2012 - Tripoli, Libya - The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, meets with Naim Ghariani, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research  for the Libyan interim government, to discuss the important role that Canada plays in the Libyan student scholarship program. There are approximately 600 Libyan students currently studying in Canadian institutions. The many thousands of students who have come to Canada to study act as a bridge of knowledge and cultural exchange between Canada and Libya. Both Libya’s Minister of Electricity and Minister of Telecom were educated in Canada
