March 7-9, 2012 - Washington, D.C. - During his meetings with U.S. officials, Minister Fast took every opportunity to stress the importance of expanding the trade relationship between Canada and the U.S. to other areas, such as the Asia-Pacific region, to keep the economies of both countries strong. He noted that Canadian and American jobs and prosperity are best served by having Canada join the Trans-Pacific Partnerships negotiations at the earliest opportunity.
