Benefits of Economic Action Plan 2012
March 30, 2012, Surrey, B.C. - The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, today spoke with workers at SMS Equipment Inc. about the government’s plan to create jobs, growth and long-term prosperity and how the plan helps Canadian companies succeed. While touring SMS Equipment, one of Canada’s leading suppliers of mining equipment, Minister Fast highlighted the elements of the Economic Action Plan 2012 that will ensure that major development projects, such as mines, face a streamlined and predictable review process. Under the streamlined review process, fixed timelines will create certainty and predictability for businesses like SMS Equipment, which will lead, in turn, to good, well-paying and skilled jobs for Canadians.
