Major Telecom Deal in Cambodia Welcomed by Minister Fast

August 30, 2012 - Cambodia - The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, welcomes a major sale of wireless equipment, by Canada’s EION Inc., represented by Dale Squires, President of EION Wireless, to Cambodia’s EMAXX 4G, represented by Sean Ngu, Chief Executive Officer, at a signing ceremony in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Bilateral merchandise trade between Canada and Cambodia totalled a record $533.5 million in 2011, an increase of 47.6 percent from 2010. Canada’s exports to Cambodia were valued at $11.4 million in 2011. Cambodia is the third-fastest growing economy in ASEAN. This deal for EION represents a significant sale in Cambodia by a Canadian firm.

EION Wireless, a privately owned Canadian company based in Ottawa, is a global provider of broadband wireless access products that offer effective, economic and secure wireless high-speed communications solutions.
