Minister Fast Meets with TPP Trade Ministers

September 6, 2012 - Vladivostok, Russia - The Honourable Ed Fast (right), Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, meets trade ministers from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), among them Bruno Ferrari (left), Mexico’s Secretary of Economy, on the margins of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Ministerial Meeting being held in Vladivostok, Russia, to discuss progress in the TPP negotiations. Canada looks forward to helping develop, as a full and ambitious partner at the table, a 21st-century agreement that benefits all TPP countries.

The current TPP membership represents a market of 510 million people and a total GDP of $17.6 trillion. Joining the TPP negotiations is a key pillar of the Harper government’s focus on opening new markets to increase Canadian exports in order to create jobs, growth and long-term prosperity for Canadian businesses, workers and families.
