June 18, 2013 - Paris - The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, at the Paris Air Show congratulates Bombardier Aerospace on its recent international successes.

Three of Bombardier’s aircraft were on display at the show, including the Global 6000 aircraft, an ultra-long-range business jet, the Q400 NextGen turboprop and the CRJ1000 NextGen jet.

At the show, Garuda Airlines of Indonesia took delivery of its first CRJ1000 aircraft. In February 2012 at the Singapore Airshow, Minister Fast witnessed the signing of the contract between Bombardier and Garuda Airlines for the aircraft, in a deal worth $297 million.

During Minister Fast’s recent visit to Russia, Bombardier signed a purchase agreement with Moscow-based leasing company Ilyushin Finance Co. for the acquisition of 32 CS300 aircraft. Bombardier has been very active in Russia, growing its fleet and building long-term industrial and commercial initiatives in the region at a rate of 12 percent for business aircraft and 26 percent for commercial aircraft. As part of Minister Fast’s trade mission to Russia in June 2012, Bombardier received permission to operate its Q400 turboprop aircraft in Russia.

The 50th Paris Airshow is taking place at Le Bourget exhibition centre from June 17-23, 2013. Canada’s presence at this year’s show includes approximately 130 Canadian aerospace companies and 75 exhibitors in the Canadian pavilion.
