
January 18, 2011 - The Honourable Diane Ablonczy, Minister of State of Foreign Affairs (Americas and Consular Affairs), travels to Panama and Guatemala from January 13 to January 14, 2012.
In Panama, Minister of State Ablonczy will meet with senior government officials. She will open a conference for consular wardens in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as visit the United Nation’s Office on Drugs and Crime (UNDOC), where some of the activities are funded by Canada.
In Guatemala, the Minister of State will attend the January 14 inauguration of Otto Pérez Molina as president. She will also meet with the incoming Minister of Foreign Affairs Harold Caballeros. Guatemala is also a key partner of Canada in our joint efforts to improve security in Central America.
