Canada to Strengthen its Relationship with Mexico and the Americas

PM Harper today met with President-Elect of Mexico Enrique Peña Nieto

November 28, 2012 - Ottawa - Prime Minister Stephen Harper meets with Mexico’s president-elect Enrique Peña Nieto before the departure of a Canadian delegation led by the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and including the Honourable Diane Ablonczy, Minister of State of Foreign Affairs (Americas and Consular Affairs), that will visit Mexico, Peru and Guatemala from November 30 to December 7, 2012. While in Mexico, Governor General Johnston and Minister of State Ablonczy will attend president-elect Peña Nieto’s inauguration. During their visit to the region, the delegation will advance Canada’s ongoing engagement in the Americas and its three goals of increasing economic opportunity, strengthening security and institutions and fostering lasting relationships.
