Minister Ablonczy Travels to Central and South America

The Honourable Diane Ablonczy, Minister of State of Foreign Affairs (Americas and Consular Affairs), will travel to Nicaragua, Ecuador, Colombia and Chile from February 15 to 23, 2013, to further strengthen hemispheric relations.

“Our government is committed to deepening Canada’s engagement in the Americas in order to strengthen our relationships and develop economic opportunities for Canadians,” said Minister Ablonczy. “Through this visit, we will also address shared regional security challenges in the fight against transnational organized crime. Canada is dedicated to showing leadership, and to working alongside our partners, to the benefit of Canadians and people throughout our hemisphere.”
