Minister Cannon travelled to India

Lawrence Cannon, Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, travelled to New Delhi, India accompanied by Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Stockwell Day, Minister of International Trade.

While in Delhi, Minister Cannon:

  • strengthened the Canada-India bilateral relationship;
  • exchanged views on civil nuclear cooperation, defence cooperation, regional security and Afghanistan; and
  • discussed the global financial recovery.

India has one of the world’s fastest growing economies and trade between India and Canada is increasing, with two-way trade approaching $5 billion.
