Minister Ablonczy Travels to Guatemala and Belize

The Honourable Diane Ablonczy, Minister of State of Foreign Affairs (Americas and Consular Affairs), visits Guatemala and Belize from October 10 to 14, 2012, to deepen Canada’s relationships with these two important countries in the Americas and to further demonstrate Canadian leadership on the world stage.

In Guatemala, Minister Ablonczy meets with Guatemala’s President, His Excellency Otto Pérez Molina, and with Carlos Raúl Morales, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs. After her visit to Guatemala, Minister Ablonczy travels to Belize where she meets with Wilfred Elrington, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and with John Saldivar, Minister of National Security. She also tours the National Forensic Science Laboratory where Canada is supporting Belize’s capacity to undertake criminal investigations.
