    • Thematic Meetings Open to Civil Society
      The Committee of Government Representatives on the Participation of Civil Society has been mandated to organise a series of Thematic Meetings open to all sectors of civil society on issues related to the FTAA negotiations. Pursuant to this mandate, the following meetings have been held:

      • First Thematic Meeting: Agriculture (June 25, 2003, Sao Paulo, Brazil);

      • Second Thematic Meeting: Services, with particular emphasis on telecommunications, professional services, and cultural industries (September 23, 2003, Santiago, Chile);

      • Third Thematic Meeting: Intellectual Property Rights (January 28, 2004, Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic);

      • Fourth Thematic Meeting: Market Access for industrial and consumer goods, with particular emphasis on Small and Medium-size Enterprises (April 26, 2004, Atlanta, United States).
