Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA)

The FTAA is a collaboration among 34 democratic governments in the Americas, including Canada, to ensure the prosperity, democracy and free markets for goods and services in the hemisphere.

Current Status

At the November 4-5, 2005, Summit of the Americas, Canada, along with 28 other countries in the hemisphere called for the early resumption of the FTAA negotiations.
