Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Free Trade Negotiations

Canada is committed to deepening our trade ties in the dynamic and fast-growing Asia-Pacific region, while strengthening our traditional partnerships in the Americas.

Along with our successfully-concluded free trade agreement with Korea, our ongoing bilateral talks with Japan, and other ongoing initiatives, the TPP is a means to achieve our ambitious pro-trade, pro-export plan to create jobs and opportunities for hardworking Canadians.

Canada is committed to playing a constructive role in advancing the TPP initiative and is continuing to work on a high-standard TPP that serves our respective interests.

Upcoming Meetings

  • TPP officials will be meeting on September 26-29, followed by a ministerial meeting from September 30 to October 1, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Consulting Canadians

The Government of Canada launched a comprehensive consultation process on December 31, 2011. This process indicated broad support for Canada’s entry into the negotiations.
