Chapter 10: Government Procurement

Bilateral and Regional Agreements

Canada is securing further access to government markets by including a government procurement chapter in bilateral and regional free trade negotiations and agreements. Over the past year, the government procurement chapter of the Canada-Chile Free Trade Agreement has come into effect, and the Peru and Colombia free trade agreements—both of which include a government procurement chapter—have been signed.

Canada also has government procurement commitments under NAFTA (Chapter 10) and is negotiating commitments with the Central American countries of Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua and El Salvador (the CA4), CARICOM, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Singapore and South Korea.
