  • Step 1 - A request for review of an alleged non-observance of the OECD Guidelines for multinational enterprises by a company or companies is submitted to Canada’s NCP
  • Step 2 - Acknowledgement of receipt of request for review within five business days
  • Step 3 – Company or companies is notified of request for review and invited to respond. Information on the request for review is added on NCP website and OECD database of specific instances
  • Step 4 - NCP undertakes an initial assessment, using OECD Procedural Guidance criteria, to determine whether the case merits further examination
    • Step 4.1 - NCP offers voluntary facilitated dialogue or mediation to the parties
    • Step 4.2 - All parties accept. NCP leads facilitated dialogue or appoints a mediator
    • Step 4.3 - Parties come to an agreement
  • Step 5 - NCP publishes its final statement on its web site and OECD database of specific instances. Target timeframe for publication: within 12 months after receipt of request for review
  • Step 6 - If applicable: NCP publishes follow-up statement on implementation of agreement and /or of NCP recommendations to parties.
