Consulting with Canadians

Diversifying trade and investment with key markets around the world is a priority for the Government of Canada.

As Canada continues to negotiate trade and investment agreements, we want to ensure that all Canadians, including women, youth, Indigenous peoples and small and medium-sized enterprise owners, can benefit from increased trade and market access around the world.

The Government of Canada is holding a public consultation on how to make its foreign investment promotion and protection agreements (FIPAs) more inclusive and progressive.

We want to hear from you. We welcome your ideas, your experiences and your priorities through this consultation.

Canadians have until 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time) on October 28, 2018, to submit their responses, comments and suggestions.

How can I participate?

The consultation questions and relevant background information can be found on Global Affairs Canada’s consultation page on PlaceSpeak. Participants will be asked to create an account in order to participate in the discussion.

You can send an email to FIPA consultation. We will provide you with the questions and relevant background information.
