Video script - Together for learning

As Nelson Mandela has said, “education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

For the world’s most vulnerable children, education means a brighter future for them, their families and their communities.

It is also often the first thing that is disrupted and the last thing to be rebuilt. That is why Canada is launching the Together for Learning Campaign to ensure that all children get the education they need and deserve.

We have seen the impact COVID-19 has made, closing schools around the globe, affecting millions of students worldwide.

For the world’s most vulnerable children, shuttered schools lead to hunger, early and forced marriages, violence and deeper poverty.

The Together for Learning Campaign is about creating a better future: one built on inclusion and respect while offering hope to the children of the world who need it most.

We will take innovative approaches, working with partners, inside and outside of classrooms--listening and learning from youth, women, and community leaders about their own experiences, either as refugees, or as people living in communities that host refugees.

Together for Learning builds on Canada’s longstanding commitment to education.

Every child, no matter where they live, deserves the chance to learn.
