Returned Quantities under the CETA Cheese Tariff Rate Quota 2019 Available for Reallocation

For the 2019 Tariff Rate Quota year, 161,385 kg of quota has been returned and is available for reallocation. Distributor or retailer allocation holders who have not returned any portion of their allocation are eligible to receive a portion of this returned quantity in proportion to their initial allocation as stated in paragraph 9.3.1 of Notice to Importers No. 909 – CETA Cheese Tariff Rate Quota:

  • 9.3.1. Returned quantities will normally be made available immediately the day after the return deadline to eligible allocation holders in the distributors and retailers groups who have not returned any unused quantity of their allocation. The reallocated quantity will be in proportion of the applicant’s allocation, or on demand if quantities still remain after the first offer.

Eligible allocation holder distributors and retailers interested in receiving a share of the returned quantities available under this process must inform Global Affairs Canada in writing via email at CETA.Quotas@international.gc.ca of the quantity desired by noon (Ottawa time) on Wednesday, August 7th, 2019.

The reallocation of available quantities will be finalized by close of business Thursday, August 8th, 2019. Allocation holders will be informed of their new allocation via email.

Please note that a non-response by the deadline will be considered as no interest in receiving any available quantities under the reallocation process.

Should any quantities remain after this offer, quantities will be made available on demand.
