Summary of Duties

Provide operational and administrative support to the Foreign Policy and Diplomacy Service section (FPDS) with scheduling, budget, travel, and other support contributing to the efficient management of the area and the office. Provides assistance and guidance to FPDS and their support staff on administrative processes/requirements and on the processing of complex, high profile and sensitive projects, diplomatic correspondence and administrative systems. Requires a sound knowledge of office and operational procedures, as well as diplomatic protocol practices. Exercises initiative in organizing work and resolving complicated problems.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to fill one position on an indeterminate basis. A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used for future indeterminate, term or emergency appointments.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, language and experience. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications (education, language and experience).

Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will be assessed for candidates who make it through the initial screening. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, practical tests, and/or presentations.
