Applying for a Canadian citizenship certificate from outside Canada and the United States
If you are not eligible to submit your application online, you may mail a paper application, along with required documents, to the following address:

The High Commission issues a Statement in lieu of certificate of non-impediment.
To request this statement, please provide the following list of documents to the Consular Section of the High Commission of Canada in Brunei via bsbgn@international.gc.ca:
- a valid Canadian passport;
- a certified true copy of a birth certificate (if born in Canada);
- a certified true copy of a Canadian citizenship certificate (if not born in Canada);
- a signed / dated statutory declaration on the requester's current marital status, permanent address, contact information and the name/citizenship of future spouse; and
- a certified true copy of divorce certificate/final judgment of divorce or of the former spouse's death certificate, if previously married.
Notarial services
The High Commission of Canada in Brunei Darussalam is now offering consular services from an alternate location.
Consular officials do not provide any legal advice or represent a person in court. They do not post bail, pay legal fees or pay fines.
