On behalf of the Government of Canada, I am pleased to welcome you to the website of the Embassy of Canada in the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Canada’s relationship with Cambodia dates to our participation in the International Control Commission in the 1950s and the Paris Peace Agreements of 1991. For decades, Canada has remained a steadfast partner in Cambodia’s democratic development.

In 2025, as part of Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy, our office in Phnom Penh was re-established as a full embassy. I am honoured to be Canada’s first resident Ambassador in Phnom Penh since 2007. I look forward to working with my team at the embassy and our many partners to sustain this positive momentum in our bilateral relationship.

Our growing bilateral and commercial relations are buttressed by vibrant people-to-people ties. The thousands of Cambodians who have immigrated to Canada for work and study have enriched the fabric of Canadian society. And many of them return to Cambodia to contribute to their home country’s development.
