If your child is born outside of Canada, you do not need to register the birth in Canada.
Citizenship services
Applying for a Canadian citizenship certificate from outside Canada and the United States
If you are required to drop-off your application in person, you are invited to leave your application in the Consular Services drop-box located inside Embassy of Canada Côte d'Ivoire from Monday to Thursday from 7.30am - 3.30pm and Friday from 7.30am - 12am (except public holidays).
Ensure that you clearly provide your telephone number and email address in application.

Notarial services
Consular officials do not provide any legal advice or represent a person in court. The office provides the following notarial services in person, by appointment only by email at abdjn@international.gc.ca, to Canadian citizens and, in limited cases, to non-Canadian citizens if the documents are intended for use in Canada.
Note: Documents must be in English or French, or accompanied by an official translation in English or French.
Certified copy (certify the document is a true copy of the original):
- Documents presented by a Canadian citizen or a non-Canadian citizen for use in Canada; exceptions apply (fees apply).
- Government-issued identification requiring a certified true copy (fees apply).
Note: Complete all documents before booking an appointment. Sign all documents in front of the consular officer.

Credit card accepted. Use the credit card authorization form.

Passport services

Book an appointment to present your documents in person. Bring your online payment receipt to your appointment.
Attestation/Consent Regarding the Provision of Travel Document Services for a Child Under 16 Years of Age (PPTC 028)
This document is required when your child’s Canadian passport application is being processed outside your country of residence. Once you have the active file number, select “Child Passport Application” under Book an appointment in order to obtain an appointment to complete the consent form.
Please bring one or two valid pieces of identification, as well as any missing documentation that was requested from the applying parent.
Notes:
Simplified Adult passport renewal application could be dropped in a sealed envelope Monday to Thursday from 8am - 3.30p.m. and Friday from 8am to 12am in a designated drop-off box available at Embassy.
Ensure you clearly provide correct phone number and email address in your application.
