Sandra Choufani, Ambassador of Canada to Mongolia

Message

It is my great honour to serve as the Ambassador of Canada to Mongolia.

Canada and Mongolia established diplomatic relations in 1973 and are marking 50 years of diplomatic relations in 2023.

Canada shares with the people of Mongolia deep democratic values, respect for human rights and sustainable growth. I am very happy to welcome you to the Embassy website that provides information on our active engagement in Mongolia.

Canada and Mongolia have built strong bilateral relations in trade and investment, based on mutual trust. The Canada-Mongolia Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (FIPA) entered into force in 2017. It supports the efforts of Canadian businesses to explore and expand investment in Mongolia in a fair and protected manner.

Canada is also committed to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in Mongolia through development initiatives that are aligned with Mongolia’s Sustainable Development Vision 2050 and Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy. Canada’s assistance help advance inclusive governance, human rights, gender equality, the empowerment of women and girls and climate action.

I am pleased to work with a passionate and dedicated Embassy team that strives to bring our countries closer together. Through this website and our social media, we will share with you valuable information about our services and engagement. I invite you to follow us on social media on Facebook and X (Twitter).
