The consular sections of the Embassy of Canada in Ankara and the Consulate General in Istanbul are continuing to limit in-person services.
Send completed applications by mail or courier to the “attention of the Consular Section” at the Embassy of Canada in Ankara.
Applications will be dealt with as time permits and in order of priority.

Passport services
COVID-19 measures
The consular sections of the Embassy of Canada in Ankara and the Consulate General in Istanbul are continuing to limit in-person services.
Please expect delays in processing times. Application processing times start once the completed application form and all supporting documents are received.
We are prioritizing urgent passport/citizenship applications, and notarial requests if you have urgent travel plans within 3 months. Must be supported by a proof of flight (reservation or booking), or a documentation for residency requirement.
Send completed applications by mail or courier to the “attention of the Consular Section”.
If you do not have immediate travel plans, please wait until 3 months prior to the planned travel date before applying for a passport. Travel plans should never be finalized until you have received your passport.

Visa and immigration services
- Submit visa applications and study and work permits to a visa application centre (VAC). Book an appointment to give your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) at a VAC.
- Submit permanent residence applications and documents to a visa office.
- Submit applications to overcome criminal inadmissibility to a visa office.
