The Lima Group welcomes IDB Recognition of the Representative of The Interim President of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó

“The governments of Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Paraguay and Peru, members of the Lima Group, welcome the decision adopted by the Board of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) to recognize Mr. Ricardo Hausmann, appointed by the Interim President of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, as governor for that country in the aforementioned entities. This decision confirms the growing isolation of the illegitimate and dictatorial regime of Nicolás Maduro.

“The Lima Group renews its commitment to the restoration of democracy in Venezuela, through holding of free and fair elections. In this regard, it will continue to support the recognition of Interim President Guaidó's representatives in international organizations and multilateral institutions.”
