Planning and performance
The Departmental Plan and Departmental Results Report (DRR) are prepared annually by all federal departments and agencies.
They are designed to reflect the government's citizen-focused agenda by identifying the benefits the department provides to Canadians and the real value derived for each taxpayer dollar spent.
Departmental Plan
Departmental Plans are tabled in Parliament in March as part of the Main Estimates. The Plan is a compilation and explanation of annual business plans, and incorporates lessons learned from the previous year's experience. Prior to 2017-18, this document was titled the Report on Plans and Priorities.

Departmental Results Report
DRRs are tabled in the fall, usually coinciding with the reopening of Parliament. The DRR describes the department's performance against the priorities listed in the previous Departmental Plan.
