Consulting with Canadians

The Government of Canada has made gender equality and women’s economic empowerment a top priority.

By applying a feminist perspective to trade policy, we can help ensure that Canada’s free trade agreements do not perpetuate economic barriers and discrimination against women, but rather promote gender equality.

As Canada continues to negotiate trade and investment agreements, we want to ensure that all Canadians, including women, can benefit from increased trade and market access around the world.

As part of this effort, the Government of Canada is holding a public consultation on trade and gender so we can hear from you. We welcome your ideas, your experiences and your priorities as part of this consultation.

Canadians have until 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time) on December 25, 2018, to submit their responses, comments and suggestions.

How can you participate?

To provide your comments, please send an email to Consultations. We will provide you with the questions and relevant background information. Questions and background documents are also available online at www.PlaceSpeak.com/tradeandgender.
