Companies are also expected to adopt best practices and internationally respected guidelines on responsible business conduct such as the OECD’s Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and the United Nations’ Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (.pdf) and take measures to meet anti-corruption objectives. Canada also encourages businesses to enhance human rights and environmental due diligence in their operations and their supply chains.
