Regulatory Cooperation Forum: 2026 Stakeholder Debrief Meeting
The Canada-European Union (EU) Regulatory Cooperation Forum (RCF) is pleased to announce that the 2026 Stakeholder Debrief Meeting will take place on May 6, 2026, in Ottawa and by videoconference.
About the meeting
The Stakeholder Debrief Meeting offers a valuable opportunity to learn more about the work taking place under the RCF, a subcommittee of the Canada-EU Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement.
This year’s meeting comes at an especially important moment in Canada-EU cooperation. In June 2025, leaders from Canada and the EU established the New EU-Canada Strategic Partnership of the Future, reaffirming their shared commitment to deepen regulatory alignment as part of a broader effort to advance trade and economic security. The RCF continues to play a central role in supporting this commitment, providing a unique space for experts to identify areas for regulatory cooperation, exchange information and address shared priorities.
Agenda
The Canadian and EU Co‑chairs will provide updates on the RCF’s active work plan items and items of interest, including:
- consumer product safety
- heavy duty electric vehicle charging
- standards cooperation
- small solid biomass combustors
An open Q&A will follow, offering participants the opportunity to share perspectives and pose questions directly to the Co‑chairs.
