Canada-United Arab Emirates Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement
Current status: In negotiations
On November 24, 2025, the government tabled a Notice of Intent to enter into negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
On November 20, 2025, Canada and the UAE announced their intention to launch negotiations towards a bilateral free trade agreement known as a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
Consultations
The Government of Canada is conducting public consultations from December 13, 2025, to January 27, 2026, seeking the views of Canadian businesses, industry associations, provinces and territories, and the general public on a potential Canada-UAE CEPA.
