Milk Protein Substances with a Milk Protein Content of 85% or more by Weight, Calculated on the Dry Matter, that do not originate in a NAFTA Country, Chile, Costa Rica, or Israel (Item 125.2 on the Import Control List)

Quantities available for Allocation

A quantity of 3,643,152 kg remains available for allocation under the Milk Protein Substances with a Milk Protein Content of 85% or more by Weight, Calculated on the Dry Matter, that do not Originate in a NAFTA Country, Chile, Costa Rica, or Israel (MPS) Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ).

The Notice to Importers No. 834 (the Notice) sets out under section 7.2.2 that available quantities will be allocated on first-come, first-served basis:

  1. first, to historical end users on a pro-rata basis, or on the basis of actual need, if the quantity requested is less than the pro-rata share;
  2. second, if any quantities remain, to new entrant end users on an equal-share basis, or on the basis of actual need, if the quantity requested is less than the equal share.
  3. third, if any quantities still remain, to non-end users on an equal-share basis, or on the basis of actual need if the quantity requested is less than the equal share.

The quantity of MPS available on August 10, 2016 is 3,643,152 kg.

Global Affairs Canada will regularly update and publish on this page the amount of MPS TRQ is available for utilization.
