Step 1 - A request for review of an alleged non-observance of the OECD Guidelines for multinational enterprises by a company or companies is submitted to Canada’s NCP
Step 2 - Acknowledgement of receipt of request for review within five business days
Step 3 – Company or companies is notified of request for review and invited to respond. Information on the request for review is added on NCP website and OECD database of specific instances
Step 4 - NCP undertakes an initial assessment, using OECD Procedural Guidance criteria, to determine whether the case merits further examination
Step 4.1 - NCP offers voluntary facilitated dialogue or mediation to the parties
Step 4.2 - All parties accept. NCP leads facilitated dialogue or appoints a mediator
Step 4.3 - Parties come to an agreement
Step 5 - NCP publishes its final statement on its web site and OECD database of specific instances. Target timeframe for publication: within 12 months after receipt of request for review
Step 6 - If applicable: NCP publishes follow-up statement on implementation of agreement and /or of NCP recommendations to parties.
