Minister Fast Visits Paraguay and Brazil

Minister Fast visited Paraguay from June 23 to 25 and Brazil from June 26 to 29 to strengthen Canada’s commercial relationship with the Americas.
In Paraguay, the Minister launched exploratory trade talks with Mercosur (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay), South America’s largest common market. He met with government officials to create jobs and increase prosperity in both countries, and with Canada-based companies seeking to augment their business in the region.
In Brazil, the Minister was accompanied by representatives of 19 Canadian companies on a trade mission that showcased Canadian expertise in key sectors, such as construction, engineering, infrastructure and high technology.
